Welcome to Rose n’ Thistle Farm

We love sharing what we do here at Rose n’ Thistle Farm, and we’re always happy to have our customers stop by the farm stand to pick up their products, ask questions, and see a little piece of farm life.

However, there is an important distinction we want to make clear:

Rose n’ Thistle Farm is a working dairy farm—not an agritourism destination or public farm.

Our farm is actively used for milking cows, caring for livestock, raising our family, and operating our other farm businesses. Because of the nature of a working farm, the majority of our property is not open to the public.

Where You May Visit

Customers are welcome to come to the designated farm stand area during our posted hours.

This is the area where customers may park, pick up purchases, shop, and conduct farm-stand business.

Please remain within the designated farm stand area during your visit.

The Rest of the Farm Is Closed to Visitors

The remainder of our property—including the dairy facilities, barns, livestock areas, pastures, kennel areas, work areas, and our private home—is closed to visitors unless you have been specifically invited by the owners.

Please do not:

  • Walk around the farm beyond the designated farm stand area

  • Enter barns, pastures, milking areas, or other farm buildings

  • Approach or handle the cows or other livestock

  • Enter kennel or puppy areas

  • Explore the property, fields, or farm equipment areas

  • Allow children to wander beyond the farm stand area

  • Bring friends or additional guests onto the property to tour the farm without prior permission

If you are unsure whether an area is open to you, please ask us first.

Why We Have This Policy

We understand that when you visit a farm, you may naturally be curious about what is happening beyond the farm stand. We love that people are interested in where their food comes from!

But a working dairy farm contains livestock, farm equipment, electrical equipment, fencing, uneven terrain, sanitation areas, and other hazards that are simply not present in a typical retail environment.

We also have strict biosecurity practices because we care deeply about the health of our animals and the safety of our dairy operation. Unrestricted visitors can introduce disease and interfere with normal farm operations.

For these reasons, we cannot accommodate casual farm tours or unscheduled property visits.

We are happy to answer questions about our cows, our dairy, our farming practices, and what we do here—but we ask that you enjoy the farm from the designated customer area unless you have been specifically invited elsewhere.

Rose n’ Thistle Farm is both a business and our home. We are grateful for every customer who chooses to support our family farm, and we want you to feel welcome when you visit.

At the same time, respecting our boundaries allows us to continue doing our work safely and efficiently.
